Box Score 2 Winchester, Va. - The volleyball team completed their regular season on Saturday with a USA South doubleheader. In the opening match, Meredith (17-12, 10-8) lost 3-0 to host Shenandoah while the Avenging Angels took a 3-1 win over Greensboro in the second match.
Shenandoah 3, Meredith 0 (25-22, 25-16, 25-11) - Meredith held a 20-16 lead in game one but could not hold on as Shenandoah went on a run and took the 25-22 win. The Avenging Angels were led by Cori Spade with nine kills and Molly Markley had eight. Kara Baughman had 22 assists and Emily Anderson had eight digs.
Meredth 3, Greensboro 1 (25-21, 25-19, 24-26, 25-21) - The Avenging Angels took the first, second and fourth sets to gain a 3-1 win over Greensboro. Spade led the way for Meredith with 26 kills while Markley added 12 of her own. Baughman had 47 assists to go with MaryBeth Finegan's 23 digs.
Meredith completes the season in fifth place in the conference and will play at the #4 seed N.C. Wesleyan in the USA South quarterfinals on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
