Volleyball Splits In First Conference Tri-Match

Ferrum, Va. - The Meredith volleyball completed their first conference tri-match with a split against Christopher Newport and host Ferrum.  The Avenging Angels lost 3-0 to the Captains and defeated the Panthers 3-0.  

Chris. Newport 3, Meredith 0 (25-10, 25-9, 25-14) - Meredith was never able to get things going and fell behind to the Captains (10-2, 3-0 USA South). Chris. Newport had a .409% kill percentage compared to Meredith's -.060.

Meredith 3, Ferrum 0 (25-13, 25-11, 25-15) - The Avenging Angels (8-3, 2-1) bounced back and had their way with the Panthers.  Cori Spade led the way with 16 kills and four block assists for Meredith.  Molly Markley added nine kills.  Clarke Glendenning had 17 assists while Emily Adnserson had 13 digs.

Meredith returns to action on Sunday as they travel to Staunton, Va. to take on host Mary Baldwin and Averett on Sunday.
