Box Score 4 SALEM, Va. - Meredith College volleyball's Jasmine Aguinaldo, a member of the Roanoke College Maroon Classic All-Tournament team, led the Avenging Angels in a 2-2 series this weekend. The Angels capped off the two day event Saturday with a sweep over the Randolph WildCats and Hollins University after falling Friday evening to the host Maroons and Virginia Wesleyan Marlins.
In Friday's two-loss series, Karlie Long led the Angels with 14 kills, adding eight digs, and Emily Hendricks recorded seven kills from the opposite corner. Aguinaldo posted nine kills, two blocks, and four service aces from the middle, and Alex Hafliger notched nine kills and as many blocks. Hannah Blaylock led the Angels with 34 assists, adding nine digs.
Meredith rallied Saturday to close out the invitational with a pair of wins. Long tallied 27 kills, and Elizabeth Pattison notched 16. Hendricks recorded a dozen winners from the outside, and Hafliger added 10 from the middle. Blaylock dished out 32 assists versus Randolph and 37 in the win over Hollins.
Jessica Goodwin notched 29 digs on the weekend, and Emery McGee tallied 27 from the back row. Rookie Karlee Michalina posted 13 digs versus Roanoke, adding a combined eight during the remainder of the weekend.
Meredith travels to Salem Tuesday for a 7 p.m. non-conference pairing with the Salem Spirits. The Angels return home to Weatherspoon later in the month playing host to the William Peace Pacers on the 30th.
