LAGRANGE, Ga. -- The top-seeded Meredith College Avenging Angels continued their dominance in the USA South with a 21-3 victory over second-seed Piedmont College to capture the program's fifth consecutive Conference Championship. Holly Hite earned her second honor as the tournament's Most Valuable Player, and six Angels earn All-Tournament recognition.

Meredith controlled the match from the onset scoring 12 goals before the Lions responded with one of their own. Much of the Angels' success was due to control of the draw by Hite with 11 and Sarah Arbes with 5 of a team total 22. Carlee Joseph dominated the attack with 15 shots, 9 on goal, but finding the net on just four occasions. 

Piedmont goalie Mattie Keaton faced off with the Avenging Angels and stopped 21 attempts on her goal.

Maria Codispoti dished out the first two of her six assists within the the first minute to the league's Rookie of the Year Lilia Cruz and Jordyn King. Joseph found Julie Capretti off the second quick draw from Hite, and the Angels were off and running towards the title.

Cruz finished with four goals, three assists, and Capretti found the net on three occasions with one assist. King contributed three points but made her strongest contribution causing five Lion turnovers to lead the match with four ground balls. Cameron Ruffin forced one turnover with three ground balls, and Olivia Higgs scored two goals with a pair of caused turnovers and ground balls. 

Haley Whitfield started in goal to earn the win for the Avenging Angels, and Sydney Hardee split time in the second half with Joy Deitrich for a combined one save during the match.

Meredith heads to Texas in two weeks to face off with Colorado College and Southwestern, both in Georgetown, Texas.
