FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- The Meredith College volleyball team completed a season sweep of Methodist University with a 3-0 win in the Riddle Center on Wednesday night.

With the result, the Avenging Angels improve to 13-6 on the season and 7-2 in league play, while the Monarchs are 9-12 overall with a 1-8 record in USA South contests.

 The Avenging Angels sit in third place in the USA South East division.

Whitney Bolton paced the squad with 10 kills in the win, while also contributing three total blocks. Lauren Bissette, Madelyn Clark and Hailey Long each finished with seven kills, while Avery Bowman nearly tallied another triple double with eight kills, 19 assists and 11 digs. Bailey Lucas was close by with 16 assists. 

Defensively, Bowman's 11 digs were tied with Hannah Jo Jablonski for the team lead in the win and Lauren Phillips finished with nine digs of her own. Sara Dees contributed four total blocks and also downed four kills in the victory.

Meredith returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 16, in a USA South Quad Match hosted by Mary Baldwin with the day's first match coming at 12 pm.
