Box Score RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Meredith College volleyball team picked up its 10th straight win and took sole possession of first place in the USA South East division with a 3-1 win at William Peace on Tuesday night.
With the win, the Avenging Angels lock up their fourth 20-win season in five years and move to 20-6 overall behind a 14-2 mark in league play. Meredith has not lost since a 3-2 defeat at the hands of the Pacers on Oct. 5. Meanwhile, the Pacers fall to 17-11 on the season and 12-3 in USA South action.
Five players finished with double-digit kills, including Whitney Bolton who finished with 17 kills. Lauren Bissette and Sara Dees each tallied 11 kills, while Avery Bowman and Madelyn Clark both registered 10 kills. Bowman also posted 22 assists and 11 digs for her third triple-double of the season. In addition, Bowman finished with five total blocks (two solo). Bailey Lucas led the way with 29 assists and also recorded six digs in the win.
Lauren Phillips finished with a game-high 27 digs and compiled eight assists, while Emily Emerson tallied 17 digs, which is a season-high.
The Avenging Angels close out the regular season with a pair of matches in a USA South quad match. Meredith takes on N.C. Wesleyan at 2 pm before finishing up with a 4 pm contest against Averett.
