Box Score RALEIGH, N.C. - The Meredith women's lacrosse team wrapped up their USA South regular season competition with a 24-2 victory over visiting Methodist on Senior Night.
Ten players registered points on the night for the Avenging Angels, led by senior Lilia Cruz (4G, 2A), and junior Olivia Blake (5G, 1A).
Meredith (9-2, 6-0 USA South) jumped out to a fast start, scoring the first eight goals of the game as sophomores Tori Whitmer and Kylie Phillips, and Cruz eached scored two goals in the run. After a Methodist goal by Rosa Williams, Meredith would score the next 13 goals of the game to take a 21-1 advantage early in the second half.
The Avenging Angels held a 22 to 6 advantage on draw controls, with Cruz pulling down 12, and freshman Jess Dowdy grabbing ten. Meredith also finished 8-of-9 on free position shots.
Seniors Cruz, Ansley Harris, Brianna Petrusa, and Joy Deitrich were honored before the game.
Lacrosse is back in action this Saturday as they head to Mary Washingtion for a 1:00 p.m. start.
