DANVILLE, Va. - There Meredith volleyball season came to an end Wednesday night, falling 3-1 to Averett in the USA South East Division semifinals. 

After dropping the first set, 26-24, the Avenging Angels battled back to take the second set, 25-21. Averett would narrowly edge Methodist in the final two sets, 25-23 and 25-20.

Ally Copenhaver led the team with 12 kills, with Hailey Long adding 10. Avery Bowman had a team-high 18 assists, while Bailey Lucas had 16. Lauren Phillips had a game-high 24 digs.

Meredith wraps up their season with a record of 9-5.
