Volleyball soars past N.C. Wesleyan

Raleigh, N.C. - The Meredith volleyball program swept North Carolina Wesleyan College 3-0 Thursday night inside Weatherspoon Gymnasium.

Meredith (14-9, 6-4 USA South) was sprung by an electric crowd which helped the Avenging Angels swing a .402 hitting percentage as a team on the night.

N.C. Wesleyan (6-12, 2-6 USA South) was out scored 50-25 over the final two sets by Meredith. 

Senior Hailey Long led the Avenging Angels with a game-high 13 kills along with nine digs. Sophomore Martin-Maine Wrangell added 11 kills while the defense was led by junior Hannah Jo Jablonski who posted a game-high 13 digs.

Freshman setter Lillie Davis totaled 42 assists on the night.

Meredith is back in action this Saturday when they host a USA South quad-match. The Avenging Angels will host Senior Day before they battle Brevard at 10 a.m.
