Box Score RALEIGH, N.C. - The Meredith volleyball program fell 3-1 to USA South foe William Peace University Tuesday night inside the Hermann Athletic Center.
Meredith (11-8, 4-3 USA South) picked up its win in the second set 25-19 after keeping things tight in the first only losing by two. In that second set win, the team tallied a .483 hitting percentage to lift them to victory.
William Peace (16-3, 6-0 USA South), who stands alone at the top of the USA South, closed out the Avenging Angels 25-16 and 25-15 in the final two sets.
Senior Hailey long earned a game-high 16 kills while junior Hannah Jo Jablonski led the game in digs with 20. Junior Lauren Bissette added eight kills while graduate student Kenzie Moore added five kills with no errors.
Freshman setter Lillie Davis had 23 assists and eight digs in her first game in the cross town rivalry. Sophomore Ali Polidori also added 10 assists to help the offensive attack while fellow sophomores Martin-Maine Wrangell and Sara Dees contributed six and four kills, respectively.
Defensively, Jablonski earned help from freshman Lexie House who had 10 digs and sophomore Emily Emerson who earned five.
The Avenging Angels are back in action when they travel to Winston-Salem, N.C. Saturday, Oct. 8th when they battle Salem at noon and Pfeiffer at 2 p.m.
