Salem, VA - Meredith College traveled to Salem, Virginia for a non-conference matchup against Roanoke College and suffered an 18-4 setback.

Roanoke jumped out to a quick 7-1 first-quarter lead and never looked back. Meredith fought hard in the midfield tying up the draws 12-12 but 18 team turnovers were too much for the Meredith defense to handle as Roanoke outshot Meredith 36-9.

The MC attack had four different goal scorers with freshman Olivia Verlinden leading the way with 1 goal and 1 assist. Sophomore goalies Mackenzie Bianchi and Madi Horrell split time in the cage for the loss.

Meredith returns home this Saturday for a conference match-up with Greensboro College. Seniors Olivia Blake, Caroline Butler, Maya Flake, and Lauren Oliver will be celebrated for senior day. The game begins at 3 PM.
