Newport News, VA - Meredith lacrosse suffered a 19-6 setback against the Captains of Christopher Newport University in the season out-of-conference finale.

The Captains outshot the Angels 34-15 while forcing 22 Angel turnovers. Meredith was able to equalize the draw at 14-14 but would only find the back of the net 6 times in the evening.

Jess Dowdy lead the way for Meredith with 2 goals, 2 caused turnovers, and a team-high 6 draw controls. Mackenzie Bianchi and Madi Horrell split time in the goal for the loss.

Meredith will close out their regular season this Saturday at Piedmont College. Game time is set for 2 pm.
