Rocky Mount, N.C. - The Avenging Angels volleyball program began USA South action with a clean 3-0 sweep of North Carolina Wesleyan College Tuesday night inside Everett Gymnasium.

The Battling Bishops kept the first set close 25-23 but Meredith ran away with the second two sets winning 25-15 and 25-20.

Senior Hailey Long led the charge with a double-double recording a team-high 13 digs and 12 kills. Junior Lauren Bissette led Meredith in kills with 14 while swinging a stunning .722 hitting percentage. USA South two-time Rookie of the Week, Lillie Davis, tallied 31 assists and six digs.

Meredith is back in action with a USA South double header at Brevard the 24th when they first take on Southern Virginia at noon followed by the Tornados at 4 p.m.
