Volleyball splits USA South double header

Brevard, N.C. - The Meredith volleyball program split two matches Saturday afternoon with a win over Brevard and a loss to Southern Virginia. 

In the first match of the day against Southern Virginia the Avenging Angels fell in three sets. Senior Hailey Long and junior Lauren Bissette led the way with 11 and 10 kills each. Freshman Lillie Davis added a double-double with 23 assists and 15 digs.

Defensively, junior Hannah Jo Jablonski tallied a team-high 18 digs. 

In the second match of the afternoon against Brevard, the Avenging Angels won in three sets. Meredith was led by sophomore Martin-Maine Wrangell and Long again who had 11 kills while Davis earned 31 assists. 

Meredith is back in action Tuesday the 27th when they travel to Christopher Newport University at 6 p.m.
