NEWPORT NEWS, VA. - The Meredith volleyball program traveled to historically great Christopher Newport University Tuesday night for a non-conference match and fell 3-0 in the Freeman Center.

The Avenging Angels (9-6) lost 25-18, 25-22 and 25-17 to the Captains (9-8).

Junior Lauren Bissette led the way with seven kills while graduate student Kenzie Moore added six. Junior Hannah Jo Jablonski tallied a team-high nine digs while senior Hailey Long and freshman Lillie Davis added six. Davis also added 10 assists while sophomore Ali Polidori earned a team-high 14 assists. 

Meredith jumped out to an 8-4 lead in the second set but were not able to hold on. 

The Avenging Angels host Mary Baldwin Thursday at 6 p.m. for its USA South home opener.
