Box Score Ferrum, Va. - The Meredith field hockey program battled tough Wednesday night in a 3-0 loss to Ferrum College at W.B. Adams Stadium.
The Avenging Angels (0-7) netted their most shots in a game this season with 10 compared to the Panthers (3-4) 17. Meredith also tallied a season-high eight corners.
The defense was stout for the Avenging Angels and led by sophomore goalie Shae-Lynn Henderson who had seven saves from 10 shots on goal. The Panthers scored once each quarter other then the fourth where Meredith held them scoreless.
Freshman Meika Olsen had three shots on goal while sophomore Kennedy Sullivan added two.
Meredith was set to battle Bridgewater at home this Saturday but do to incoming weather it has been canceled. The Avenging Angels will be back in action Oct. 5th when they host Sweet Briar at 5:30 p.m.
