FERRUM, Va. – The Meredith field hockey team dropped their 2022 season opener 8-0 against Allegheny in a neutral site game Saturday afternoon at Ferrum College.

The Avenging Angels battled throughout the first quarter of play before giving up the first goal of the game near the end of the first quarter. Meredith headed into the half trailing 5-0.

Junior Bella Allen earned the lone shot on goal for the Avenging Angels while sophomore Shae-Lynn Henderson tallied 22 saves in goal.

Meredith is back in action Sep. 9th when they travel to Wittenberg.
