Staunton, Va. - The Avenging Angel Soccer program earned a 2-1 victory over Mary Baldwin University Friday afternoon at SMA Worth Field.
Mary Baldwin got the scoring started the 16th minute taking a 1-0 lead. The lead did not last long as freshman
Claire Wagner scored her first goal of the season in the 18th minute.
The teams headed into the halftime break all square and stayed that way until the 86th minute.
Mary Baldwin committed a foul inside the penalty box giving the Angels a penalty kick chance. Junior
Meredith Warrick slotted the game winning goal into the back of the net for the Angels.
Meredith out shot Mary Baldwin 12-8 and saw fifth year senior
Kasey Wilkins tally four saves in goal with one being a crucial penalty kick save in the 75th minute.
The Angels are back in action on Oct. 17th when they host Methodist at 6:30 p.m.
