RALEIGH, N.C. - The Meredith basketball program fell 65-53 against Salem College in their conference home opener Tuesday night inside Weatherspoon Gymnasium.
The Avenging Angels led 16-15 at the end of the first quarter but a big push by Salem in the second gave the Spirits an 11-point advantage at the halftime break.
Salem outscored Meredith by four in the third quarter and the Angels could never recover. The Angels held the Spirits to 25 percent behind the arc, and 37 percent for the game. Meredith turned the ball over 30 times and saw Salem tally 31 points off those turnovers.

Piper Carriere led the offense with 15 points and seven assists while fellow senior
De'ja Morgan and junior
Barresha Jones both had eight points and six rebounds. Senior
Danika Ray posted seven points and seven rebounds while junior
Emma Lodge led the team grabbing nine rebounds.
Meredith travels to Warren Wilson on Nov. 30th with tip-off set for 6 p.m.
