SWANNANOA, N.C. - The Meredith basketball program earned their first win of the season 74-61 over Warren Wilson Thursday night inside Devries Athletic Gymnasium.
The Angels jumped out to a 21-18 lead after the first quarter of play but headed to the halftime break trailing by five. Meredith was down seven heading into the fourth quarter before outscoring Warren Wilson 27-7 earning a 13-point win.
The final quarter got rolling for the Angels when junior
Emma Lodge drilled a jumper from behind the arc which sparked an 18-2 run for Meredith. Lodge finished with 13 points and seven rebounds.
The offense was led by senior
Piper Carriere who set a career-high with 24 points while also adding six assists. Fellow senior
Danika Ray was also in double figures with 11 points.
The Angels are back in action at home on Saturday when they host Southern Virginia University at 2 p.m.
