RALEIGH, N.C. - The Meredith basketball program opened up the 2023-24 season hosting the University of Mary Washington inside Weatherspoon Gymnasium where they fell 85-32.

The Angels dug an early hole and trailed 41-12 at the halftime break. 

Sophomore Danae Hawkins led the Angels with 12 points shooting 50 percent from the field while adding two assists and two rebounds. 

Senior Piper Carriere had nine points while fellow senior De'ja Morgan added six points, five rebounds and two steals. 

Meredith is back in action when they open USA South play at Brevard on Nov. 17th with tip-off set for 6 p.m.
