Lacrosse edges out Bryn Mawr

Box Score

RALEIGH, N.C. - The Meredith lacrosse program picked up a tight 7-6 victory over Bryn Mawr College Monday afternoon at the Meredith Track & Field Complex.

The Angels (2-2) struck first off a junior Arrianna May unassisted goal. May finished the contest with a game-high three goals and two draw controls.

The Owls (2-1) scored three first-quarter goals and then jumped out to a 4-2 lead in the second. Meredith did not allow more than one goal in a quarter the rest of the way. The teams headed into the halftime break all tied at four.

Both teams traded goals in the third as freshman Reese Walker found the back of the net for one of her two goals on the night. Walker added her second goal in the fourth to take the lead followed by a goal to close out the owls from senior Kylie Phillips. Phillips added three groundballs as well.

Defensively, senior Izzy Steele tallied five caused turnovers and while junior Madeline Horrell earned eight saves in goal.

The Angels are back at home Wednesday when they host Lebanon Valley at 6 p.m.
