Lacrosse trots past William Peace

RALEIGH, N.C. - The Meredith lacrosse program cruised to a 21-0 victory over cross-town rival William Peace University Wednesday night as they also had their annual Morgan's Message game. 

Meredith (10-3, 6-0 USA South) scored 16 seconds into the game to get the ball rolling.

William Peace (1-8, 0-5 USA South) faced a running clock four and a half minutes into the contest. 

The Angels tallied 14 first-quarter goals and led 16-0 at the half where the track & field program honored their senior class. 

Sophomore Lauryn Turner scored five goals while also adding five assists. Senior Tori Witmer scored four with an assist while fellow senior Kylie Phillips scored two with an assist and 11 draw controls. 

Reigning USA South Rookie of the Week Freshman Reese Walker scored three goals and added three assists. 

Freshman Brooke Blades, sophomore Sophie LeClaire, and junior Jessica Dowdy all scored two each while sophomore Allison June Mabe also scored. 

The Angels are at Greensboro College next Tuesday the 18th for a 4 p.m. start.
