ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The Meredith Soccer program opened up the 2023 season with a 0-0 draw against Bob Jones on the campus of North Carolina Wesleyan College Saturday afternoon. 

Both teams started slow as they combined for for only two total shots in the first half, both teams with one each. Neither team earned a corner kick opportunity in the first half either. 

The game came alive in the second half. Bob Jones tallied eight shots while the Angels rattled off six. Sophomore Allison Fox earned four saves in goal for Meredith playing the entire second half. Freshman Haley Vazquez led the Angels attack with three shots. 

Meredith is right back in action on the campus of North Carolina Wesleyan College tomorrow when they battle LaGrange at 2 p.m.
