RALEIGH, N.C. - The Meredith Volleyball program hosted regional powerhouse Christopher Newport University Friday night inside Weatherspoon Gymnasium and fell 3-1 in a tightly contested match.
The Angels took the first set 25-22 before dropping the next three sets. Meredith only hit .180 while the Captains swung a .256 for the match.
Freshman
Caitlyn Russell led the offense with 11 kills while junior
Emma Duncan added eight. Junior
Sara Dees tallied six kills and eight digs while sophomore setter
Lillie Davis had 21 assists and nine digs.
Defensively, senior
Hannah Jo Jablonski had 13 digs and freshman
Megan Murray added nine.
The Angels are right back in action at home tomorrow when they host Brevard College for a USA South showdown at noon.
