BUENA VISTA, Va. - The Avenging Angel Basketball program fell 69-37 at Southern Virginia University Saturday afternoon inside Knight Arena.

The Knights jumped out to a 17-7 lead in the first quarter and led by 18 at halftime. Meredith tried to hang around but Southern Virginia fended off the comeback to remain unbeaten in USA South play.

Senior De'ja Morgan led the team with seven points while freshman McKenzie Shilliday added six. Sophomore Rylie Wade grabbed 11 rebounds with eight of them being offensive. 

The Angels travel to Salem on Tuesday with start time set for 6 p.m.
