WINSTON SALEM, N.C. - The Meredith basketball program picked up a road USA South win 67-60 over Salem College Tuesday night inside Varsity Gym.
The Avenging Angels were led by the senior duo of
Danika Ray and
Piper Carriere. Ray set a career-high in points with 18 and also grabbed 17 rebounds while Carriere scored 17.
Meredith jumped out to a 16-10 lead at the end of the first before extending that lead to nine at halftime. The Angels fought off Salems second half push to secure the road victory.
Meredith shot 45 percent from the field while holding Salem to 38 percent and making them turn the ball over 13 times. Sophomore
Rylie Wade continued her dominance on the glass grabbing 14 rebounds and adding seven points.Â
Meredith is back on the road Saturday when they travel to Mary Baldwin at 1 p.m.
