Misenheimer, NC – On Saturday, October 12, the Meredith College soccer team delivered a commanding 3-0 victory over Pfeiffer University, improving their season record to 7-4-3 overall and 3-2-1 in conference play.
Meredith set the tone early with a goal from Kate Conoley at the 15:01 mark, breaking through Pfeiffer's defense to put the Avenging Angels ahead. Just 14 minutes later, Rebecca Morrison extended the lead with a well-placed shot at 29:13, giving Meredith a solid 2-0 advantage going into halftime.
The Avenging Angels continued their dominance in the second half when Conoley netted her second goal of the game at 50:34, assisted by Meredith Warrick. This offensive surge sealed the win for Meredith, who controlled the match from start to finish.
Goalkeeper Khaliah Jones played the full 90 minutes in the net, making two crucial saves to secure the shutout for the Avenging Angels.
With the win, the Avenging Angels turn their focus to their next game at home on Wednesday, October 16, against non-conference opponent Johnson & Wales University (N.C.) at 6 p.m.
Following the midweek match, Meredith will celebrate Family Weekend with a key conference game on Saturday, October 19 at 2 p.m. against Greensboro College.
