WINSTON-SALEM, NC — The Meredith College Avenging Angels claimed an impressive 4-1 victory over Salem College in their final regular-season conference road game. The win brings momentum as they look forward to their Senior Night and final home game of the season next week.
The game remained scoreless until the 43rd minute, when forward Rebecca Morrison broke through the defense to put the Angels on the board. Morrison continued her standout performance with a second goal at the 59-minute mark, widening Meredith's lead to 2-0.
Late in the second half, Kate Conoley scored off a well-placed assist from Evelyn Hopkins, making it a 3-0 game. Shortly after, Salem responded with a goal, but Meredith's Savannah Wallrich quickly answered, scoring in the final moments to secure the Angels' 4-1 victory.
Meredith College returns home for their last regular season game on Wednesday, October 30, for Senior Night. Fans are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes and join in the celebration!
