Box Score 2 Buena Vista, Va. - The Avenging Angels were on the road Saturday for a USA South tri-match at Southern Virginia University, taking on Pfeiffer University and host Southern Virginia.
In their first match against Pfeiffer, Meredith secured a decisive three-set victory, finishing with scores of 25-20, 25-13, and 25-10. Freshman standout Delaney Lowery led the offense with nine kills, achieving an impressive .500 hitting percentage. Seniors Ali Polidori and Emma Duncan contributed with seven and six kills, respectively. The Angels also performed strongly from the service line, delivering nine aces.
The second match saw Meredith face off against Southern Virginia in a hard-fought four-set battle. The Angels started strong, taking the first set 25-22. However, the host Knights responded, claiming the next three sets with scores of 20-25, 21-25, and 24-26. Lowery once again led Meredith's offense with 11 kills, while the backcourt defense was solid, with Megan Murray, Alexa House, and Hannah Jo Jablonski each recording double-digit digs (26, 16, and 11, respectively).
Meredith Volleyball will return to their home court on Wednesday, Nov. 6, for their final regular-season match, hosting Salem at 7 p.m.
