AVENING ANGELS SOAR TO VICTORY OVER WARREN WILSON, 70-51

Basketball Wins at Home on Thanksgiving Weekend

RALEIGH, NC – (Saturday, November 30, 2024) The Meredith College Avenging Angels came out firing on all cylinders, securing a commanding 70-51 victory over the Warren Wilson College Owls. The win boosts the Avenging Angels' record to 2-4 on the season.

Meredith wasted no time asserting their dominance, racing to a 25-8 lead in the first quarter. The Avenging Angels continued their strong play in the second period, heading into halftime with a comfortable 42-18 advantage.

While the Owls fought back in the second half, outscoring Meredith by five points, it wasn't enough to overcome the Angels' early momentum.

Pam Mock, Paris Bethea, and Rylie Wade led the charge for Meredith offensively. Mock posted a team-high 20 points, while Bethea added 18 points and Wade chipped in 17 points. Wade also made an impact on the defensive side of the ball, pulling down a game-high 19 rebounds.

Next up, the Avenging Angels will take on Pfeiffer University in a USA South matchup on Tuesday, December 3. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. at home in the Weatherspoon Gymnasium.
