RALEIGH, N.C. - The Meredith Lacrosse Program dropped their 2024 season opener 19-4 against Shenandoah Saturday afternoon at the Meredith Track & Field Complex.
Shenandoah, who is a top program in the ODAC, jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the first quarter. The Angels, who were missing a few key offensive players, stopped the bleeding and kept the game competitive throughout the second and third quarters only being outscored 6-3 during that span. Meredith ran out of gas in the fourth and saw the Hornets pull away.
The Angels went 13-13 on clear attempts and turned Shenandoah over seven times. The offense was led by sophomore
Reese Walker who scored a goal and also earned an assist. Fellow sophomore
Brooke Blades also scored while juniors
Lauryn Turner and
Ava Spradley also found the back of the net.
Meredith is back in action when they host Bridgewater on Wednesday, Feb. 28th, at 4 p.m.
