RALEIGH, N.C. - The Avenging Angel lacrosse program picked up their first win of the 2024 season 13-11 over the University of Lynchburg Saturday afternoon at the Meredith Track & Field Complex.
Meredith honored its 2023 team with their USA South Championship rings earlier in the day giving the Angels an early burst which showed as they jumped out to a 6-3 lead in the first quarter. The Angels led 8-5 at the halftime break.
The Hornets trailed by as much as five in the second half but would not go away. Lynchburg outscored Meredith 3-1 in the final quarter of action but the Angels withstood the late run to earn the victory.

Madeline Horrell picked up 12 saves in goal for the Angels. Senior
Arrianna May continued her hot streak in her return to play scoring four goals and adding two assists. Junior
Sophie LeClaire set a career-high scoring three goals on the afternoon. Sophomore
Brooke Blades and freshman
Kenzie Todd added two goals each.Â
Meredith is back in action when they host Aurora University on March 7th at 3 p.m. Â
