RALEIGH, N.C. - The Meredith softball program hosted day one of the Grand Slam Triangle Classic Friday afternoon. The Angels took game one 10-5 over Denison University before falling 5-0 to No. 18 Coe College.
The offense clicked on all cylinders in game one scoring every inning but two. Sophomore
Tess Spangenburg tallied her first home run as an Avenging Angel in the third inning. Spangenburg had a two-hit game with two RBIs and a stolen base. Senior
Sarah Manis totaled four RBIs on two hits.

Mia Staggs and sophomore
Emilee Lewis both had a hit and an RBI each while Staggs added a stolen base. Sophomore
Lillie Davis earned a complete game victory in the circle while also having a hit and an RBI at the plate.
Meredith only picked up three hits in the game two loss to No. 18 Coe. Manis and Davis each had one while sophomore
Avery Puryear also added one.
The Angels are set for their annual spring break trip to Orlando, Fl. Live stats will be available for all six games. They open up on March 12th against Macalester College and Wesleyan University.
