RALEIGH, N.C. - The Meredith softball program picked up two five-inning wins over Brevard College Saturday afternoon 8-0, 8-0.
The Angels scored three in the first and five in the fourth to earn the five-inning win in game one. Graduate student
Hannah Weigle earned the win in the circle with five strikeouts only giving up two hits.
Sophomore
Avery Puryear continued her hot streak with two hits and four RBIs while fellow sophomore
Tess Spangenburg added two RBIs off one hit. Junior
Jessie Woller added one RBI while sophomores
Mariah Bell and
Lillie Davis had two-hit games
In game two, Davis shined all around. In the circle she threw a five-inning no-hitter while earning a career-high 11 strikeouts. At the plate, Davis had another two-hit game with two RBIs.
Freshman
Riley Fay picked up three RBIs with a bases-clearing double while senior
Sarah Manis had a two-hit game with an RBI. Puryear also tallied another RBI for the afternoon along with Woller.
Meredith is back in action on April 20th when they travel to Mary Baldwin University with game one set for 1 p.m.
