Volleyball Splits with Lynchburg and Averett on Day 1 of the Cougar Classic

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Danville, V.A. - Volleyball splits with Lynchburg and Averett and the Averett Invitational on Day one.
The Meredith volleyball program dropped the first match of the day against Lynchburg, but rallied back
to defeat host Averett in a reverse sweep at the Averett Invitational inside the E. Stuart James Grant
Center Friday afternoon. The Angels lost to Lynchburg in five sets and beat Averett in five. In the first
game Sophomore Caitlyn Russell led the Angels with 21 kills while 5 th year Hannah Joe Jablonski recorded
a match high 29 Digs. Junior Lillie Davis had 44 assists and fifteen digs. The Angels won a hard fought
match against Averett after dropping the first two sets. Freshmen Delaney Lowery totaled 14 kills
swinging a .522 hitting percentage while freshman Regan Kresho tallied a career high 6 aces. Davis
earned a double-double with 62 assists and 11 digs. Meredith is right back in action at the Averett
Invitational tomorrow when they play Guilford at 10am and Roanoke at 12pm.
