Box Score 2 Danville, V.A. - Coming off a quick turnaround the Meredith volleyball program was victorious the first match of the day against Guilford, and then squeaked out a thriller to defeat Roanoke in at the Averett Invitational inside the E. Stuart James Grant Center Saturday afternoon. The Angels defeated Guilford in four sets and beat Roanoke in five. In the first match Senior Madelyn Clark came off the bench and recorded 9 kills and a .316 hitting percentage. Freshmen Delaney Lowery continued her hot hitting with a .400 hitting percentage on 25 swings. The Angels then turned right around and won a hard fought match against Roanoke. A see saw back and forth match the Angels came out on top 15-13 in the fifth set to secure the victory. Sophomore Kinley Copeland totaled 10 kills and a .304 hitting percentage. Junior Lillie Davis recorded her third double double of the weekend with 40 assists and 13 digs. Meredith is back in action at home Friday, September 6th when they host Randolph Macon at 3pm.
Meredith volleyball will be on their home court next weekend as they host the Raleigh Classic on September 6-7th.
