RALEIGH, N.C. | Meredith basketball battled hard, but fell to North Carolina Wesleyan 68-38 on Sunday afternoon. Meredith gained momentum throughout each quarter and scored 23 points in the second half. The Battling Bishops 34 points in the opening two frames and consistent offense in the final twenty minutes ultimately secured the win.
Pam Mock led Meredith, scoring 17 points.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Nadia Simmons had five points to help the Battling Bishops jump out to a 16-5 lead after ten minutes.
- Mock found success on offense and scored 14 of Meredith's 15 points in the first half.
- Rylie Wade and Danae Hawkins highlighted an 11-point third quarter for the Angels. Meredith clamped down on the defensive end as well, forcing seven turnovers and holding NC Wesleyan to 13 points.
- Kendalyn Dixon made a fantastic effort play to start the fourth quarter. After NC Wesleyan came up with a defensive rebound, she stripped the ball away, elevated, and buried the mid range jumper.
- N.C. Wesleyan caught fire and shot 50% from the field in the final quarter to close out the game.
- Mock led Meredith scoring 17 points on 6-18 from the floor and five made free throws. Rylie Wade got in the mix for every rebound and finished the game with 15. Hawkins put up seven points and corralled six boards.
- N.C. Wesleyan capitalized in transition and scored 19 fast break points.
- Three Battling Bishops scored in double figures: Dorinda Jordan (16), Corynthian Williams (14), and Anaya Hall (10).
