Meredith Shines in Pink Out Sweep Over N.C. Wesleyan

Raleigh, N.C. — The Meredith College volleyball team delivered a commanding performance Tuesday night, sweeping N.C. Wesleyan 3–0 (25–15, 25–13, 25–14) inside Weatherspoon Gymnasium. The win pushes the Avenging Angels to 13–7 overall 

How It Happened 

Set 1 — Meredith 25, N.C. Wesleyan 15
Meredith controlled the opening set from the start, running a balanced attack and forcing Wesleyan into errors. The Avenging Angels limited the Battling Bishops to a negative hitting percentage in the frame and used steady serving and defensive coverage to build separation. Setter Lillie Davis ran an efficient offense, and the back row led by Megan Murray kept Wesleyan from stringing points together.

Set 2 — Meredith 25, N.C. Wesleyan 13
The Angels came out even sharper in the second set, tightening blocking and converting more swings to keep Wesleyan off rhythm. Meredith's offense continued to find multiple scoring options while the defense created transition chances. The result was a quick, decisive set that put Meredith firmly in control of the match.

Set 3 — Meredith 25, N.C. Wesleyan 14
Meredith closed out the sweep with its best hitting frame of the night (.375 hitting percentage in the set). The team executed through the middle and outside, finishing with consistent serving pressure and timely digs that prevented a Wesleyan comeback. The Angels closed the match with energy and focus, sealing the straight-set victory.

Key Performances:

  • Daven Brabble: 7 kills, team-high hitting efficiency (.353) and contributed from the service line.

  • Caitlyn Russell: 7 kills and 8 digs, one of Meredith's most consistent offensive and defensive contributors.

  • Lillie Davis: 22 assists while helping on serve and defense.

  • Megan Murray: team-high 15 digs, anchoring the back row.

Final Notes:
Meredith outhit N.C. Wesleyan .200 to -.134 and used balanced offense and solid back-row play to secure the sweep. The win adds an important USA South victory as the Avenging Angels continue their push in conference play.
