RALEIGH, N.C. - This summer, the Meredith community said goodbye to someone who meant so much to our basketball program and to countless Avenging Angels — Coach Kevin Walker.
To celebrate his life and lasting impact, the Meredith basketball staff hosted the inaugural Kevin Walker Alumnae Game on Saturday, September 27. Alumnae, faculty, staff, and friends gathered to honor his memory with a day filled with laughter, stories, and love. It was a heartfelt reunion that brought together two families — Kevin's given family and his Meredith family — united by the legacy of a man who touched so many lives.
Coach Walker served Meredith College for decades as both assistant basketball coach and director of the Copy Center. But to those who knew him best, he was much more than his titles — he was a mentor, a role model, and an endless source of encouragement and positivity.
In recognition of his remarkable contributions and the profound influence he had on generations of Avenging Angels, Meredith College is proud to announce the creation of the Kevin Walker Endowment Scholarship. This scholarship will continue his legacy by supporting future students and celebrating his unwavering dedication to student success.
Those wishing to contribute may make a donation here — please select "Other" in the designation dropdown and write in Kevin Walker Scholarship.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in remembering a truly unforgettable man. Coach Walker's spirit will live on — in every student, teammate, and friend he inspired, on and off the court.
