Avenging Angels Split Doubleheader

Greensboro, N.C. — The Meredith College volleyball team was on the road Saturday for a doubleheader at Greensboro College, falling to the Pride in the opener before bouncing back to sweep Averett in straight sets. The split moves the Avenging Angels to 16–11 overall and 9–7 in USA South play.

Match One: Greensboro 3, Meredith 0 

Meredith faced a tough test in the undefeated Greensboro Pride, who extended their conference streak with a 3–0 win.
Junior Caitlyn Russell led the Avenging Angels with seven kills, while Daven Brabble added five kills and a pair of service aces. Delaney Lowery chipped in four kills and a block, and Lillie Davis paced the back row with 19 assists and six digs.
Despite a late rally in the third set, Meredith couldn't overcome Greensboro's .281 team hitting percentage, dropping the match in straight sets.

Match Two: Meredith 3, Averett 0 

The Avenging Angels responded with a dominant sweep over Averett in the afternoon matchup. Meredith hit an efficient .211 as a team and controlled the match from start to finish.
Russell again led the attack with nine kills, while Lowery followed with six on an impressive .750 hitting percentage. Reagan Kresho added seven kills, and Brabble contributed three kills and three aces.
Davis anchored the offense with 18 assists and 15 digs, and Callie Branch tallied six assists and four digs in the win.
