MISENHEIMER, N.C. | Meredith College basketball battled hard but fell 69-53 to Pfeiffer on Saturday afternoon. Meredith played stellar defense all game long, but turnovers and fast break points for the Falcons resulted in the loss.
Pam Mock had another double-digit outing, scoring 20 points to go with nine boards.
Rylie Wade was one point shy of a double double and finished the game with nine points and 10 rebounds.

"We battled hard on defense but had too many self-inflicted mistakes on offense to come out on top. This is a game we will grow from as we prepare for our next conference matchup."
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Kendalyn Dixon got Meredith on the board with a three on their opening trip down the floor. A few possessions later, Paris Bethea converted a layup and Danae Hawkins hit a jumper to get on the scoresheet and give Meredith the early 7-4 advantage. Emme Baber nailed a sweet step back three in the final two minutes of the quarter. The Falcons immediately responded with a 6-0 run. After ten minutes, Meredith led 16-15.
- Rylie Wade successfully drove the lane and laid one in to open the second. Wade's layup sparked an 8-5 run for the Avenging Angels. Mara Ochoa-Contreras nailed a triple for the Falcons as Pfeiffer went on a 12-5 run to close out the half. Pfeiffer led by three at the break, 32-29.
- Mock drove into the paint and laid it up and in for her 11th point of the night. After that, the Falcons scored ten straight points to extend their lead to twelve, 46-34.
- Meredith fought hard in the final ten minutes. Hawkins buried a three, Mock made back-to-back baskets, and Rylie Wade added a layup. The Avenging Angels' efforts weren't enough to offset the strong third quarter from Pfeiffer and the Falcon's got the win.
- Pfeiffer had four players score in double figures led by Alexis Bynum (18 points) and Lola Cabanis-Ali (13 points, 14 rebounds).
- Meredith shot 37% to Pfeiffer's 34% from the floor.
- Pfeiffer scored 28 points off 27 Meredith turnovers and totaled 28 fast break points.
