Brevards Perimeter Shooting Downs Meredith

BREVARD, N.C. | Meredith basketball lost 80-59 to Brevard on Saturday afternoon. Perimeter shooting was the difference in the game. The Tornados made 14 threes in the game to the Avenging Angel's three.

In the loss, Rylie Wade put up another double double. She scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Pam Mock had her sixth straight double-digit outing, scoring 15 points.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • Brevard shot the lights from beyond the arc in the first quarter, sinking eight from deep. Rylie Wade and Mock scored eight and six points respectively in the opening frame to answer Brevard's perimeter shooting. Meredith trailed 28-18 at the end of the first quarter.
  • Paris Bethea opened the second quarter with a three and converted a layup on the following possession for the Avenging Angels. Jada Petty-Wilkins continued Brevard's hot outside shooting and nailed two from deep. The Tornados went on an 11-2 run late in the quarter to take the 51-29 lead at the half.
