KISSIMMEE, Fla. | Meredith College Softball completed the sweep on day two of The Spring Games with back-to-back shutout victories, 5-0 and 8-0 against Earlham and Russell Sage.
Lillie Davis threw a complete game against Earlham to pick up her fifth win in the circle this season. She recorded a season-high 10 strikeouts in the win and only allowed four hits.
Kaylee Manning started the second game and went five innings, fanning four batters to earn her second win of the season.

GAME ONE: Meredith 5 – Earlham 0
SCORING:
- Emilee Lewis hit a singled to short and then used her speed to steal second. A ground out advanced Lewis to third and brought Ashbee Standridge to the plate. Standridge continues to show off her power at the plate. She roped her fourth double in two games to right field to put Meredith ahead 1-0. Standridge stole third and scored on a fielding error by Earlham to make it 2-0.
- Tess Spangenburg and Lillie Davis both drove in a run in the sixth to increase the Avenging Angels' lead to 4-0. Avery Puryear singled to left field and Kaydon Roberson roped one to center field that brought Puryear home for Meredith's fifth and final run of the game.
HITTING:
- Standridge was 2-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.
- Roberson went 2-3 at the plate with an RBI.
- Emilee Lewis had two hits in the game.
- Spangenburg had two RBIs and Davis recorded one.
- Earlham tallied four hits in the loss.
PITCHING:
- Lillie Davis threw a complete game shutout against Earlham to pick up her fifth win in the circle this season. She recorded a season-high 10 strikeouts in the win and only allowed four hits.
- Tatum Rickert went the distance for Earlham but took the loss. She recorded seven strikeouts, allowed eight hits, five runs, and three earned runs.
GAME TWO: Meredith 8 – Russell Sage 0
SCORING:
- Emilee Lewis drew a leadoff walk, stole second, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and scored on another wild pitch.
- In the third inning, Lewis reached on a fielders choice and Logan Fennell scored from third to put Meredith up 2-0.
- The Avenging Angels scored five runs in the fourth inning to take a commanding 7-0 lead. A wild pitch and an error. Mia Staggs mashed an RBI single that scored Slater and then Standridge hit a double that scored two more runs.
- Staggs scored the final run for Meredith in the sixth as the Avenging Angels secured the 8-0 win and the day two sweep.
HITTING:
- Standridge went 1-4 with a double and three RBIs.
- Logan Fennell was a perfect 2-2 at the plate and scored two runs.
- Staggs had two hits in four at bats, an RBI, and a stolen base.
- Leila Slater went 2-3 and scored a run.
- Lewis tallied an RBI and three steals.
- Russell Sage had four hits in the game.
PITCHING:
- Kaylee Manning got the start and the win for Meredith. Manning pitched five innings, recorded four strikeouts, and only allowed three hits. Lillie Davis came in and threw the final inning for the Avenging Angels.
- Leah Madore started for Russell Sage. She threw two innings, struck out two batters, and allowed a run.
- Zoe Moroughan came in for relief and tossed one and two-thirds innings. She surrendered five hits and five runs (two earned).
- Bailey Catlin worked the last two innings, allowing four hits and two runs (one earned).
