KISSIMMEE, Fla. | Meredith College Softball split their final two games of The Spring Games on Thursday. The Avenging Angels beat DeSales in a close 5-4 battle in game one before falling 12-9 to Saint Mary's College in game two.

Lillie Davis had ten Ks in game one and Kaydon Roberson got a key RBI early for the Avenging Angels.

GAME ONE: Meredith 5 – DeSales 4

SCORING:

• Ashbee Standridge mashed an RBI single up the middle to put Meredith on the board in the first. Gianna Angermeier scored on a wild pitch to tie the game up at one.
• Sarah Manis pushed across the second run for Meredith in the fourth inning. Roberson crushed an RBI single to left center that scored Manis, to make it 3-1.
• The Bulldogs tacked on three runs in the fourth to regain the lead, 4-3.
• Meredith tacked on two more runs in the seventh to retake the lead, 5-4. The Avenging Angels held strong in the bottom of the seventh and Standridge made the final play at third base to secure the win.

 
HITTING:

• Standridge had another impressive game at the plate, going 3-4 with an RBI.
• Manis went 2-3 and had one RBI.
• Roberson had the clutch RBI single to left center.
• Angermeier went 3-4 at the plate for DeSales and mashed a triple.

 
PITCHING:

• Lillie Davis got the start and the win for the Avenging Angels. Davis threw a complete game and recorded 10 strikeouts.
• Rachel Lowry threw seven innings in the loss and recorded five Ks.

 
GAME TWO: Saint Mary's College 12 – Meredith 9

SCORING:

• Avery Puryear crushed a double to center field that scored two and Manis stepped into the box next and followed suit with another RBI double. Kaylee Holmquist hit the third straight double for the Avenging Angels to give Meredith the 4-0 advantage.
• Saint Mary's responded and scored six runs in the third inning to take the lead, 7-5.
• Standridge roped a double to left field in the fourth to tie the game at seven. Meredith added two more runs in the inning to go up by two, 9-7.
• Gia Schiavone hit a sharp double to left field that scored three runs for the Bulldogs. She tacked on another RBI in the top of the seventh to put Saint Mary's ahead 12-9.
• Faith Dean came in to pitch the seventh and got the last three outs to secure the 12-9 come from behind victory for Saint Mary's.

 
HITTING:

• Mariah Bell and Ashbee Standridge both went 2-4.
• Laycie Eastwood was 2-3 with two runs scored.
• Savannah Talley had two hits and an RBI.
• Zimmerman, Heim, and Peter all had two hits in the game for Saint Mary's.

 
PITCHING:

• Sam Mikitka picked up the win in the circle for Saint Mary's. She threw four innings and tallied five strikeouts.
• Kaylee Manning threw two innings and recorded two Ks.
• Leila Slater threw two innings of relief and Lillie Davis pitched the final three innings and fanned seven batters.
