Meredith Lacrosse Sweeps Wednesday’s Doubleheader

RALEIGH, N.C. | Meredith Lacrosse beat Willima Peace 23-0 and Chowan 24-2 in a doubleheader on Wednesday. The Avenging Angels scored 12 goals in the first quarter against the Pacers and nine in the opening frame against the Hawks.

GAME ONE: Meredith 23 – William Peace 0
  • Ava Spradley scored the first goal of the day for Meredith. Lauryn Turner added to Meredith's lead, scoring back-to-back goals.
  • Reese Walker scored twice and Spradley wrapped up the first fifteen minutes with two more goals for the hat trick.
  • Morgan Hall scored two goals in the third and Madison Dean netted her second goal of the game.
  • Logan Campbell scored the final two goals for Meredith in the 23-0 win.
  • Meredith won 23 of 25 draw controls and registered 38 shots.
GAME TWO: Meredith 24 – Chowan 2
  • Allison June Mabe scored late in the first quarter to put Meredith ahead 7-0.
  • The classic Todd to Walker combo worked for an early goal in the second, which extended the Avenging Angel's lead to 11-0.
  • Blake Tutman scored Chowan's first goal with 10:37 left in the second quarter.
  • Logan Campbell netted back-to-back tallies to end the third quarter.
  • The Hawks got another goal early in the last frame. Raelyn Blanchard passed it to Gracie Timken, who buried it into the back of the net.
  • Todd, Mabe, and Elle White scored the final three goals of the day for Meredith as the Avenging Angels won 24-2.
  • Madeline Horrell made three saves in the win. She earned her second win of the day and sixth of the season.
  • Amelia Money tallied a save in 45 minutes of action.
  • Reese Walker scored six goals and added four assists for 10 points.
