Avenging Angels Cruise to 19-5 Victory over Hendrix

MEMPHIS, Tenn. | Meredith College lacrosse wrapped up their road trip with a dominant 19-5 victory over Hendrix College on Sunday. Kenzie Todd led Meredith's offense, scoring five goals to go with three assists for six points. Reese Walker continued to flex her scoring prowess, netting three goals and tallying a game-high six assists.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • Lauryn Turner and Kenzie Todd scored the opening goals of the contest. Player notched a tally for Hendrix, which was swiftly answered by a score from Reese Walker. Gabrielle Romano capped off a four goal flurry for the Avenging Angels to end the quarter. After fifteen minutes, Meredith led 8-2.
  • Romano corralled a pass from Walker and made a great cut from behind the goal and buried her shot into the back of the net to extend Meredith's lead. Walker tallied two more assists to end the half, finding Ava Spradley and Logan Campbell.
  • Meredith led by nine, 12-3 at the break.
  • The final two frames were more of the same, as the Avenging Angels tacked on seven more goals. Late in the fourth quarter, Turner cashed in her hat trick and Todd rocketed one home for her fifth tally of the game.
  • Kenzie Todd led Meredith's offense, scoring five goals and adding three assists for the eight-point game.
  • Walker dished out six assists and added three goals, Turner scored three goals, and Romano, Bailey Swails, and Spradley each tallied two scores.
  • Meredith's defense caused 17 turnovers to Hendrix's five.
  • Maddie Horrell got the start in goal and earned the win.
  • Peyton Refling scored three goals for the Warriors.
