RALEIGH, N.C. | Meredith College Softball beat Eastern Mennonite 1-0 in their first game at the Triangle Collegiate Softball Classic on Friday. Lillie Davis pitched a shutout in the win and recorded seven strikeouts.

SCORING:

• Sarah Manis hit a leadoff double down the left field line to start the game. Ashbee Standridge drew a walk later in the inning. Tess Spangenburg hit a single up the middle that advanced Standridge and scored Manis.
• Spangenburg's RBI single drove in the games only run as Lillie Davis and Meredith's defense locked down the Royals for the 1-0 victory.

HITTING:

• Sarah Manis went 2-4 at the plate with a double
• Spangenburg was 2-3 with one RBI
• Mia Staggs was 1-3 and recorded one steal
• The Royals had four total hits against Davis in the loss.

PITCHING:

• Lillie Davis picked up another win with her complete game seven strikeout shutout performance in the circle.
• Natalye Graham pitched seven innings for EMU in the loss. She allowed eight hits, walked a batter, and recorded seven strikeouts.
