Reese Walker Shines in 23-0 Rout Over Huntingdon

MONTGOMERY, AL | The Meredith College lacrosse team delivered a commanding 23-0 victory over USA South foe Huntingdon College on Saturday afternoon, remaining perfect in conference play and improving to 13-2 overall (7-0 USA South). The Avenging Angels exploded out of the gate with a 13-goal first quarter and never looked back, showcasing their depth, precision, and unmatched team chemistry.

Junior attacker Reese Walker was a standout force in the shutout, registering 3 goals and 7 assists, directly contributing to over a third of Meredith's scoring. Whether orchestrating plays from X or finishing with precision, Walker's vision and versatility kept Huntingdon's defense scrambling.

Walker sparked the offensive onslaught early, scoring Meredith's second goal of the game at 13:52 in the first quarter off a feed from Lauryn Turner. She followed with a beautiful assist just over a minute later, setting up Bailey Swails. The scoring continued at a breakneck pace, and Walker continued to leave her mark—assisting on goals by Turner, Todd, Mabe, and Swails, including Meredith's final tally in the fourth quarter.

The offensive output was a true team effort. Kenzie Todd, Allison June Mabe, and Lauryn Turner each recorded 4 goals, while Swails added 3. Every quarter saw balanced contributions, but it was the relentless pressure in the first that set the tone, with 13 goals scored before Huntingdon could settle into the game.

Defensively, Meredith was stout, recording its third shutout of the season and limiting the Hawks (3-7, 3-4 USA South) to minimal offensive opportunities. The defense was aggressive, clean, and composed, allowing the Avenging Angels to control the pace throughout the game.

Saturday's win marks Meredith's tenth consecutive victory and keeps them at the top of the USA South standings. The Avenging Angels will look to carry this momentum into their final stretch of conference play.
