Cera Powell, a standout scholar-athlete at Virginia Tech and UConn has been named the next assistant volleyball coach at Meredith College.
Powell is a recent graduate of the University of Connecticut's Graduate Certificate program in Leadership and Public Management. Previously, Powell earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Health
from Virginia Tech, graduating with honors and earning recognition on the Dean's List and All ACC Academic Team.
Powell's experience spans from collegiate volleyball team captaincy at Virginia Tech to operations roles within UConn Athletics, illustrating her adaptability and dedication both on and off the court. Her hands-on involvement in youth sports, including coaching with River Valley Juniors and counseling at Summer Volleyball Camps, reflects her commitment to empowering the next generation of athletes
In her ongoing role as Assistant Volleyball Coach with Triangle Volleyball, Powell mentors young athletes, emphasizing teamwork, discipline, and personal development through sport. "I'm passionate about developing well-rounded individuals through sport and education," said Powell. "Whether on the court or in the community, I believe in leading with integrity, empathy, and purpose."
